This week we watched as our butterflies emerged and they grew so fast it was quickly time to set them free. The kids expressed both excitement and sadness and having to say goodbye, and we knew exactly how they felt.
The Robins have had an amazing year and it has gone by so quickly. We've been so blessed to work with so many amazing families this year and we appreciate all of your involvement & support. Watching the Robins learn and grow has filled our hearts with so much joy, and we thank you for allowing us the privilege of being their teachers. They each have earned a special place in our hearts and we say goodbye confident that a successful Kindergarten year awaits them.
Have a great summer!

Robins - June 11th - 15th
This was the very last week of the school year and we spent it celebrating the things we learned, the fun we had, and the friendships we made. Here are some of the highlights from this week in the Robins' class...
Our butterflies emerged!
All ten of our caterpillars successfully metamorphosed into beautiful painted lady butterflies...
Butterfly Arts & Crafts...
Happy Father's Day!
We used permanent markers and water colors to create unique Father's Day gifts...
Pizza Party!
For our final cooking project, we made pizzas! We started out by rolling out our individual balls of dough and then we added our favorite toppings. It was fun, messy, and delicious!

Robins - June 4th - 8th
Hello again! Here are some of the highlights from the the Robins class this week...
The transition from preschool to kindergarten can be exciting and scary all at the same time. As our school year winds down, the Robins are talking a lot about what to expect at our new schools. We read the book, "Kindergarten Here I Come," by Nancy Carlson and afterwards we invited our Kinder-Robins to share with the class about their kindergarten experiences. We even drew pictures that captured what we were most excited for in kindergarten.
This week in the Robins class we focused on simple and enjoyable activities...
Sensory play with cornstarch and water...
Dancing...
Finger painting...
Our caterpillars are snug inside their chrysalises and now we await the arrival of butterflies. This week we used different types of noodles to demonstrate the life cycle of a butterfly.

The Colors Of Us
This week we read a beautiful book entitled "The Colors of Us." Afterwards, we mixed skin tone paints to create our very own special color that matched our skin.We noticed that each color was just a little bit different than the others, just like us!
We hope you'll get a chance to see our "Colors of Us" artwork in the middle room.
Thanks for reading!

Robins - May 29th - June 1st
This week was all about caterpillars & butterflies. The Robins watched tiny caterpillars grow & grow until they finally started forming chrysalises.
We learned a lot about the life cycle of a butterfly. Here we are creating diagrams that show the different stages...
Dress up, dramatic play, and dance all inspired by butterflies...
Wings are great, but we needed antennae...so we used construction paper, popsicle sticks, and pom poms to make some!
Caterpillars & butterflies inspired by Eric Carle's "The Very Hungry Caterpillar"...
The Very Hungry Caterpillar game...
Pom pom caterpillars...
Confetti butterflies...
We used a variety of odd materials to paint caterpillars...balloons, paper cups, forks!
We saved the best for last! The letter of the week was "Z", which means the Robins have made their way through the entire alphabet. We celebrated by making alphabet soup...yum!
