Here are some of the highlights from the Robins' class this week...
On Tuesday, we were so excited to see snow. Miss Julie even led some of the children in a "sticking dance" to try and get the snow to accumulate. It must have worked because Wednesday was a snow day! When the children came back, they couldn't wait to share their stories of snowmen and snowball fights with their families...
The children enjoyed last week's gingerbread activities so much, we decided to keep it going. We made a gingerbread "mat man".
We talked about perimeter and then used dried cranberries to measure the perimeter of gingerbread cut outs.
We talked about all the different versions of the story of the Gingerbread Man we had read. The children summarized each book and we discussed similarities and differences. Next, the children voted on their favorite and made a graph.
Uppercase & lowercase matching...
We love making patterns!
Collecting pictures from magazines and creating collages is one of our favorite afternoon activities...
The letter of the week is "H"! We practiced making the letter H out of wood pieces and writing the letter on magnetic tablets and in sensory trays.
The Robins had so much fun with the letter writing trays filled with salt and flour, we created giant sensory trays filled with flour, sugar, and rock salt.
We painted a giant "H"...
On Friday, the middle room was transformed into the game room. The Robins took turns playing different games like chutes and ladders, memory, and alphabet soup...
Until next week,
Miss Crystal & Miss Julie
