Robins - January 9th -13th

Happy New Year! The Robins are glad to be back and we're finally back in the swing of things. Here is a look at what we've been up to...

Pattern boards & rubber shapes make geometry fun...

Even snack time can be an opporunity for learning...alphabet bingo!

The letter of the week was "G"!

Fun with magnets...

The Robin's class is full of sensory experiences...

Scented playdough...(we added cinnamon)...

Cornstarch & water...

Water...

Insta-snow!

Gingerbread! Gingerbread! Gingerbread!

We've spent the last few days reading many versions of the classic gingerbread tale. The Robins have also enjoyed retelling their favorite versions & making up their own gingerbread stories.

Painting gingerbread...

Gingerbread math....sorting by size & color. The Robins starting sorting all sorts of things, even carpet squares!

One day we decorated a giant gingerbread man. When we went to pull him out of the oven, he was gone! We had to follow a trail of crumbs to find him out on the playground!

Today, each kiddo got to make their own gingerbread man. The Robins examined some ginger root and decided it didn't smell nearly as good as gingerbread cookies. Next, we rolled out the dough, cut out the shapes, and put the cookies in the oven. Later that day we decorated our cookies and ate them! We even made a graph to show whcih part of the cookie the kids ate first...

Until next week,

Miss Crystal & Miss Julie
