Robins - October 10th-14th

Hello again! Here are some of the highlights from last week in the Robins' class...

We had so much fun learning about the letter "A" we continued with it this week. We also incorporated a study of apples...

Fishing for "A"s and apples using magnets and paperclips...

We put on or scientists caps to make predictions about which apple would be heavier (wood, plastic, or real). The kids really enjoyed this and continued to weigh other items around our room.

Making apple cereal necklaces...

Painting with apples...

We accidentally spilled a bucket of buttons in our sand box this week, but a treasure hunt/counting game made cleaning up a snap!

This week we introduced some new wood pieces that are part of our new language and literacy curriculum. We put them out for children to explore freely and were so excited when the children discovered on their own that these shapes could form letters. Woohoo!

The Robins love completing the obstacle courses Mr. Antonio builds on our gym...

The Robins are starting to get pretty excited for Halloween!

We've started counting down the days in our morning meeting. A great way to introduce counting and other mathematical concepts...

Some Robins were inspired by this Halloween pattern and chose to experiment with patterns themselves...

Until next week...
Miss Crystal
