Dinosaurs, Chalk, Music, and Water- Summer is Finally Here!

At Kamp KIDSPACE, summer is here and so is the fun!

Three weeks ago, the Kinders spent a week learning loads of information about dinosaurs and playing with chalk. This was a week inspired by the book Chalk, by Bill Thomson.

Chalk and Dinosaurs and Ice Cream, Oh my!!

Welcome to "Chalk and Dinosaurs and Ice Cream, Oh my" week here at Kamp Kidspace! We're having a great time digging into these fascinating and imaginative worlds together, and we're proud to show off some of our highlights from this week. Our kids have been really unearthing wonderful things.

On Monday, we started our Dinosaur week by painting/creating our own Brontosaurus friends with kid-made chalky-paint. Here are some of our masterpieces:

Alma's Brontosaurus

Kaliyah's Brontosaurus

Emma K.'s sparkly Brontosaurus

Matthew's Brontosaurus

Abby's (pink, of course) Brontosaurus

Logan's Brontosaurus

Dajah's Brontosaurus

Tony's Brontosaurus

On Wednesday, we made our very own chalk in the morning preschool class; notice the rainbow of colors!

Thanks for taking the time to see what we've been up to this week.

Lots of Love,

Ms. Katie, Ms. Sarah and Ms. Anna

Monster Masterpieces

The children used their imaginations to create colorful monsters on black as night paper.  Colored chalk provided the pop of color and gave their monsters a bit of whimsy.  Take a look!

The assignment:  RECYCLE A MONSTER!

MONSTERS BORN FROM COLLAGE MATERIALS

  CRAYON RESIST MONSTERS
This art technique uses crayons and a water color wash.  The paint does not adhere to the wax of the crayons.  The children began their drawings with a black sharpie.
